A Copper Hill Photography Update
Each Year our business grows and changes and so do we. We’ve got the photos to prove it and we cant wait to share them at the end of this blog, so read on to get to the good stuff! We love doing Year in Review blogs because it gives a chance to relive all the sweet moments we’ve been a part of and reflect on what we’ve learned and plan for what we want to learn and achieve in the coming year. And trust me, we are setting some serious goals!!! We’ve got a to do list of ideas for projects and content a mile long! So, we cant wait to jump all over said to do list and see what the coming year brings, all the couples we’ll meet and all the new ways we will grow in life and in business! Here is a glimpse into the life of budding Sedona Wedding Photographer entrepreneurship.
We wanted to start this blog by saying a big Thank You! to all of the couples that have chosen us to be there on such an important day. This is something we don’t take for granted and means the absolute world to us! All of our couples this year have all been a dream to work with. We appreciate everyone’s genuine care for local artists, great communication, warm hugs, and valuing the investment of photography on their wedding day, so that their legacy of love can continue on for generations to come. And this blog and all of it beautiful images wouldn’t be complete without a huge shout out to all of the wonderful vendors who helped to make all of these weddings so beautiful. We’ve loved creating with you and we certainly couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication! We can’t wait to continue to get to know you on a more personal level and see the inspiring work you do as your businesses continue to thrive and grow. We would recommend any one of these businesses, they were all a pleasure to work with, highly professional and offer great services. So if your in the market for wedding vendors, this is a great resource for you!
Keeping up with the #copperhillcouples
This past year has brought us some amazing clients that we have gotten to know personally and we now call our friends. We love watching on as their stories grow. Jordan and Andrew had a beautiful baby girl who couldn’t wait to see the world and came before her due date, Trisha & Andrew just announced that they are expecting a new little baby Bowers, Leon & Chelsea bought a new home and got another cat to add to their fur baby family, she’s adorable. Maddie’s been tackling some huge projects at work while Jacob’s out there saving lives even during the Holidays (thank you), they continue to let their love grow and are sweeter on each other than ever! Chelsea and James have done some remodeling and they’ve been traveling! And all of Chascity’s hard work paid off when she graduated as a Nurse Practitioner, while Leo is still getting his education on! We’re so proud of all of you and love continuing to watch and be a part of your stories!
The Power of Print
We have become even more passionate about the Power of Print, and the stories that people are writing on their walls with photographs. We are proud to say that all of our couples this year have been printing and hanging their photos. Chelsea and Leon have several very large framed prints hanging in their new home, James & Chelsea made frame collages on their living room walls, and Trisha & Andrew made tons of prints. This is huge to us as we are trying to distance ourselves from the impersonal “shoot & burn” style of photography where people get thrown a disc and forgotten about. Blogging about this topic is also on our to do list for 2018.
Time to get Real
2017 has been a whirlwind of goal setting, goal crushing, learning about business and relationships and has brought a lot of big changes to how we think and operate. We have had our best year yet with some of our favorite work to date and we’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons and pinpointed things we need to work on business-wise for sure. For example, just continuing to get our name out there. Our business is doing great and it is healthy, but we want more of it! If we’re being real and honest (which we always want to be honest and have promised that from the beginning), figuring out better ways to help people who should be finding us in this highly saturated market to actually find us is something we’re still working on and improving. We feel confident that we offer great services and products but more people just need to hear about us. We’re still working on transitioning from our full time day jobs in retail to making our part time day dream a full time reality. We spend so much time and energy every week working on stuff that we don’t love that sometimes it feels like our full time day jobs stunts our growth in our business that we do love. So, we’ve come up with some great ideas to implement in 2018 that should help but in the mean time, if you’ve had a great experience and love your photos or any interaction with us, tell your engaged friends if we fit their style! Write us reviews on facebook or google, spread the word! Tag us, tag your friends, point them in our direction, we want to be there for them! And of course we’re always open to ideas and suggestions about spreading our name! We’re passionate about what we do and we want to do it for even more couples in the future! We’re also eternally grateful for all of the experiences we’ve had and all the people we’ve met along the way! Here are some of the places last year took us!
Our Adventures this year

Goals We’ve Accomplished
Last year we spent a lot of time redesigning our website, blogging and building better relationships with industry peers. And a large part of our goal this past year was to take even better care of our couples and to start to be more connected with the community and we’ve taken large strides to do that. Before we took on this grand adventure of wedding photography we considered ourselves “hermits”, we kept to ourselves as much as possible. You see, we’re both introverts by nature but have really come to enjoy getting out and meeting new people this year. We are proud of this artist community that we live in and want to be more of a part of it. This year we have started to get to know other artist around town and even joined Local First, An Arizona program that supports the local economy with networking, education, directories, and resources to grow.
Goals we’ve Set
To follow along with the tradition of each new year we have put together our own list of resolutions ( just to share a few) :
- Help others more, whether that is photo related or just need a helping hand with something
- Blog even more helpful tips for couples, like this: On The fence about a first look? or Best Man Tips: 5 helpful videos
- Have professional photos of US taken (haven’t done that since we got married, for shame!)
- Be more connected with our community, join the chamber of commerce
- Travel More
- Shoot every wedding hybrid (digital & film)
- Continue to clearly define our style and brand
- Shoot a wedding with a llama…or just any cute animals in general
- Book an international wedding
Best Of 2017
And now, without further adieu, here are some of our favorite photos from 2017, a “Best Of” recap if you will. Looking through the thousands of images we shot last year and narrowing it down to our favorites was no easy feat. It was a labor of love, but one that we enjoyed every second of as we reminisced! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Cheers to another great year of Love, prosperity and So. Much. Laughter.
